Have you been to Storybird.com? It is this great site where you can create your own story book with the art that is already provided there. It is a lot of fun and great writing practice. But more importantly right now, I am a semi-finalist in this week's competition and I need your vote! My story "Like A Barrel of Monkeys" (under my pen-name "rosencrantz") can be found under the November "Curiosity" challenge. You can sign up for free and vote for my story. Voting is only open this weekend! Please go cast your vote for my book (or someone else's if you are so inclined). : )
For the weekend recommendation, I'm going to go with a great "just be yourself" book. Fair Cow written and illustrated by Leslie Helakoski. I'm a sucker for a story that involves a state fair in any way. I really enjoyed this one and so did my kiddos. Enjoy!
I'll go along and vote!
ReplyDeleteGreat site isn't it, and I've voted for the monkey story! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks, Carole!
ReplyDeleteI love your story :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck Megan! And what a great website, the saviour of every picture book writer out there who can't draw!
ReplyDeleteI voted Megan, good luck! It looks a similar set up to www.smories.com. Nice to have an outlet for shorter stories, gives you a bit of confidence for the bigger stuff.
ReplyDeleteFun. Thanks for introducing me to that site! I voted and am now Green Pancake! I posted this in our sidebar, too. I'm a new tweeter, but don't really understand it. I want to tweet about this for you, but, um, do you know how I go about doing that? I'll just paste your url in..Good Luck! christy
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! Good luck, Christy! Twitter confounds me too. I use "Hootsuite" to manage it because I can't figure anything out on the real site. You can just find Hootsuite online and download it. It is much easier! : )
ReplyDeleteVoted! Loved the story - especially the ending.
